Discover why getting what you want can feel so difficult and how mindset, resistance, and self-sabotage may be making the journey harder than it actually is.

Why Getting What You Want Feels So Damn Hard (But Isn’t)

July 30, 20252 min read

Remember being six and begging for a Game Boy?

Mom hit you with the classic “money doesn’t grow on trees.”

Dad followed up with a lecture on “needs vs. wants.”

Translation to a kid’s subconscious:

“Wanting more = selfish = dangerous.”

Fast-forward to the present day…

  • You hesitate to DM the woman who lights you up because you’re “not the perfect man” yet.

  • You stall on launching the offer that could hit 10K months because your funnels aren’t perfect.

  • You circle the gym, networking event, or Twitter timeline instead of playing full out because some phantom voice whispers, “You haven’t earned it.”

The Perfection Myth

Perfection is a cultural straightjacket.
Society sells it. Instagram filters it.
Your nervous system buys it and keeps you trapped in practice mode forever.

Reality check:
Women don’t need to be perfect. They need presence.
Clients don’t need perfect. They need solutions.
Friends don’t need to be perfect. They need a genuine connection.

Manifestation = Repetition + Identity

  1. Assume it’s already yours. The guy who knows he’s magnetic shows up differently. Shoulders back. Voice steady. Actions bold.

  2. Play the reps. Approach. Pitch. Ship. Debrief. Refine. Repeat. This is the “effort” everyone confuses with struggle.

  3. Lower the stakes. Failure, rejection, even temporary broke-ness, every outcome is recoverable. Your ego just hates bruises.

Do that long enough, and the subconscious falls in line.

It realizes the world doesn’t collapse when you take up space, ask, or demand the upgrade.

Reprogramming the “No” Loop

  • Replace “I have to fight for scraps” with “value flows to me because I create value.”

  • Replace “what if I get rejected” with “great data for the next rep.”

  • Replace “I’m not ready” with “I’m always becoming.”

When those lines become your default OS, you stop chasing novelty and start stacking mastery.

The Simple Math of Life

1 + 1 = 2.
Skill + reps = result.
Drama + excuses = stagnation.

Pick your equation.
